Regular Chimney Sweeping is necessary to avoid fire danger. An accepted industry rule of thumb is that a chimney flue should be swept before no more than 1/8” of creosote builds up, especially if the creosote is baked on. At this point, the creosote has great potential to cause a chimney fire.
Our technicians thoroughly sweep the flue using soft bristle or wire bristle brushes, depending on the type of creosote build-up. The technicians continue by completely brushing and vacuuming the fireplace to make certain all creosote is removed.
Our technicians will ensure that they keep their work area extremely clean to the point of leaving the workspace around the fireplace exactly as it was when they first arrived. If repairs or fireplace components are needed, the technicians will discuss options with the homeowner.
